Distrust adds an element of uncertainty to everything.

I think the games I play are me trying to have control over a situation. (Maybe that's why I get so angry when I lose....)

And also, I sort of "preemptively" distrust my opponents to be polite when they win. (That's a reasonable fear when you're playing predominantly young game enthusiasts online.)

Distrust and loss of control. Two fears that work great together.
