My girlfriend and I got in an argument last night. And today, I played games on the internet all day.

There's a connection. The argument left me in a "defensive crouch." It's almost a stasis -- a paralysis. She eventually did do the thing that I'd been arguing for, but all morning long I was convinced that she wasn't going to...just out of spite.

Maybe that's why I was feeling so messed up. That connection wasn't there.
